Ceiling fan mounted on a fan-rated box in a bright residential room
Project Overview
We successfully completed a comprehensive residential electrical upgrade, transforming an outdated electrical system into a modern, safe, and energy-efficient solution. The project included complete home rewiring, electrical panel replacement, LED lighting installation, and dedicated circuits to support today's high-powered appliances and smart home technology.

Enhance your home's comfort and energy efficiency with our professional ceiling fan installation services. We fitted fan-rated ceiling boxes, ran dedicated switch legs for independent fan and light control, and balanced each unit after installation. The work covered five rooms and was completed without disturbing the existing ceiling finishes.

Project Challenge

The original ceiling boxes were rated for light fixtures only and could not safely carry the weight or vibration of a fan. Several rooms also had no switch loop for separate fan and light control, so any new fan would have shared a single switch with the room lighting.

Our Solution

We replaced each box with a fan-rated brace assembly fixed to the joists, ran an extra conductor to give independent fan and light switching, and balanced every blade set after mounting.

Services Included

  • Fan-rated ceiling box replacement
  • Joist brace installation
  • Separate fan and light switch wiring
  • Remote and wall control setup
  • Blade balancing and wobble correction
  • Operational testing on all speeds

Project Highlights

Properly rated mounting

Every fan is fixed to structure, not to a plasterboard box, which is where most fan wobble and eventual failure begins.

Independent control

Fan speed and light level are switched separately in each room rather than sharing one circuit.

Quiet running

Blades were balanced on site so the fans run without the tick or hum that comes from an unbalanced set.

They noticed the old ceiling boxes were not rated for fans, which nobody else had mentioned. The fans run silently and we can finally control the light and the fan separately.

Project Outcome

Air circulation improved enough that the air conditioning now runs at a higher set point through summer, and the rooms feel comfortable at lower cooling output.

Lower cooling load

Moving air lets the thermostat sit a few degrees higher without any loss of comfort.

Safe for the long term

Fan-rated boxes and braced mounts remove the risk of a fan working loose over years of vibration.
