Upgraded traditional lighting to energy-efficient LED fixtures, enhancing brightness throughout the building. We surveyed the existing light levels, replaced ageing fluorescent fittings zone by zone, and added occupancy control where usage patterns justified it. The work was staged around the operating schedule so no area lost lighting during working hours.

The building ran on ageing fluorescent fittings that drew heavily, flickered at start-up and were reaching the end of their service life. Replacing tubes had become a recurring maintenance cost, and light levels in the working areas had dropped well below what the tasks needed.
We measured existing light levels, selected LED fittings that met the required output without over-lighting, and replaced the fixtures zone by zone so no area was out of service during working hours. Occupancy sensors were added in the low-traffic zones.
Fixture output was chosen from surveyed light levels, so the result meets the standard without wasting energy on over-lighting.
Work ran zone by zone around the operating schedule, leaving every area usable throughout.
Occupancy control was fitted only in the areas with genuinely intermittent use, where it earns back its cost.



Lighting energy use dropped sharply and the tube replacement cycle disappeared entirely. Staff reported the biggest difference in the areas that had quietly dimmed over years of gradual decline.
The new fittings deliver the required light at a fraction of the previous load.
Regular tube and ballast replacement is no longer part of the maintenance schedule.
